About Us

After working in IT for many years we realised that we needed to get out and see the world while we still had our health and able to hike, swim and not need an afternoon nap.

We had enjoyed our holidays on the beaches, the city breaks  and the weekends away but felt we had never really travelled.

As with many of us in fulltime employment this cam be difficult with limited holidays and all the  other commitments we have.

We started by combining our annual leave into longer periods away from home, taking road trips and arranging travel ourselves.

This blog is not necessarily about us.  It is not to tell you what a great time we had doing this or that,  but will share with you places we have been,  what we have learned  and how things have worked for us.  Chances are you will want to do something a little diferent to us but hopefully you can learn from the mistakes we have made and what works for us.

As we have travelled we realised that everywhere has a story. Maybe historic, maybe cultural maybe just the people we have met.

We will share some of those stories with you as well as recommending places to go visit and experiences to take

One thing that does come with age is maybe the requirement for a bit more comfort, therefore we tend to stay away from bunkhouses , cheap car hire and dodgy hotels.   Not that we want business class and and 5 star hotels ( well not all the time).   There are ways to try and get the best value for your money nd not compromise too much on the quality.

We hope you take some inspiration from our trips, get 3333  into looking deeper into some of our stories and maybe also pick up a tip or too
